Step-by-Step Instructions for Cooking the Sunday Gravy

Step1

In a large stockpot, sauté the onion in olive oil for 5 minutes until it starts to caramelize. Put in the red pepper flakes, mushrooms, and continue cooking for another 3 minutes. Add in the garlic and tomato paste, then cook for 3 more minutes.

Step 2

Mix in half a bottle of red wine. Stir well. Let the pot simmer on medium heat for 5 minutes until the wine has reduced to 1/3. Add short ribs in the sauce, then bring it to a simmer.

With a knife, make medium incisions on the pork tenderloin and stuff it with cloves of garlic. Add this pork in the sauce.

Step 3

Mix all ingredients for meatballs together in a bowl. Bake the meatballs for 20 minutes at 350F. After baking, add meatballs to the sauce.

Cut the sausage into thirds and add to the sauce.

Step 4

Approximately an hour before dinner, prepare six hard-boiled eggs. Add 1 teaspoon vinegar and salt to the eggs, and let them cool. Under a broiler, place a bell pepper for 5 minutes until it blackens. Let these cool in plastic bags.

Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Spread soft cheese over it. Add basil and roasted pepper. After rolling it, secure it with a toothpick and dip it into the sauce.

Step 5

In a pot, boil the pasta. Make sure to roll the lasagna noodles and cut them into wide strips. Add some Sunday Gravy sauce to the noodles. Start peeling hard-boiled eggs, then place them in the sauce for 10 minutes.
