Today, you will be learning how to make these delicious biscuits, which are light and fluffy, but crispy on the outside. Then, they are served with creamy honey butter. These buttered honey cheddar biscuits make a great way to begin a meal.
These biscuits are sprinkled with a bit of shredded cheddar cheese, which will be lightly crispy, while the inside will be buttery and soft. You can eat these biscuits on their own, and you will be totally satisfied.
However, what if you paired them with honey butter?
You might be the kind of person who does not put butter on bread, and you tend to leave the butter unopened when it is served with bread, toast, or English muffins. You might be someone who finds bread delicious by itself, so it’s not necessary to add anything. However, this honey butter will be the one exception!
Have you ever tried honey butter? It is butter whipped with honey and a bit of powdered sugar to make it extra creamy. Because they are so good, you could probably eat honey butter with almost anything.
So, think about if you pair honey butter with the cheddar biscuits. It is definitely an unlikely combination, but it is so addictive!
This is a treat, an indulgence, but it’s worth it considering the fall holidays are right around the corner. These might make an appearance at your dinner table.
These are great! You won’t regret trying them.
How to Make Buttered Honey Cheddar Biscuits
First, preheat the oven to 350°F. Use parchment paper or a silicone baking mat to line a baking sheet.
Then, in a large bowl, add flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and granulated sugar. Combine all ingredients until well incorporated.
Add the butter to the bowl, and break it apart with a pastry cutter or two forks. Combine the butter and flour until they become pea-sized.
Next, fold in the cheddar cheese to the dough until it is evenly distributed.
Pour the buttermilk, and stir until all the dry ingredients are wet.
Then, use a 1/4 measuring cup to scoop every portion of the dough. Put the dough on the baking sheet you prepared. You can put 6 biscuits on each baking sheet. This way, if the biscuits expand, they won’t overlap.
Before placing each biscuit on the baking sheet, sprinkle extra cheddar cheese on top. Bake the biscuits for approximately 12-14 minutes, or until the top of the biscuits become golden brown.
While the biscuits are baking, you can whisk the room-temperature butter until it’s smooth. Then, mix in the honey and powdered sugar, and whisk until butter is smooth.
After baking the biscuits, let them cool down for a while before you serve them with the honey butter.
Enjoy!
