Ingredients
- 1 loaf French Bread cut in half down the middle lengthwise
- 1/2 cup Olive Oil
- 3 tbsp. Grated Parmesan Cheese
- 3 tbsp. Fresh Minced Garlic
- 1 tbsp. Thyme
- 1 tbsp. Oregano dried
- 1/2 tbsp. Red Pepper Flakes
- 8 oz. Mozzarella cheese 1 bag should be fine
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. You can take out the pans first.
- Cut French bread lengthwise to make two halves.
- In a bowl, combine olive oil, grated Parmesan cheese, and all spices. Then, use a silicone basting brush to mix the ingredients.
- Spread the olive oil mixture evenly on both halves. Divide it equally between them. The mixture is sure to be thick with the grated cheese and minced garlic, but it will still be easy to divide. Be sure to work around the edges, and not just in the middle.
- Divide an 8 oz. bag of Mozzarella Cheese between the two slices. You can use “Creamy Melt” cheese.
- Then, leave bread in the oven for 10 minutes
- Change oven to broil, then carefully move the rack right below broil.
- Next, broil the top of the garlic bread for about 3 minutes. Make sure to check for any burning. Broiling can be fast and unpredictable, depending on the oven, so don’t leave it unattended. It is important to check the oven every minute until it is done, and rotate the pan as needed. Broiling is a skillful process, but it produces beautiful brown cheese on the garlic bread.
