The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2010 will be announced today (Monday 26th April). The same as in previous years, the list is the result of an extensive poll of the world’s most celebrated chefs, renowned food critics, leading restaurateurs and well-travelled gourmands. The world’s culinary elite will be meeting at Guildhall in London tonight for the 2010 S. Pellegrino World’s 50 Best Restaurants Awards.
Last year’s list could not change the existing state of things on the top of the list, where the first spot was for Ferran Adrià with and his iconic El Bulli restaurant (the winner for four years in a row, 2006 – 2009). The second, again for four consecutive years, was the Brit Heston Blumenthal, with his The Fat Duck, in Bray, (Berkshire, England).
Full list of last year’s results is published here.
As usual, speculation is raising over which restaurants will appear in the list and what restaurant will be pronounced as the best in the world. Will last year’s winner El Bulli (Costa Brava in Catalonia, Spain) restaurant retain top place for the fifth year in a row? Or will its owner, the famous Spaniard , Ferran Adria’s be pushed out by a new contender?
The S.Pellegrino World’s 50 Best Restaurants is produced by Restaurant Magazine – a British magazine which every year produces a list of 50 restaurants ranked to be among the best in the world. This list is considered to be the most prestigious ranking of the finest restaurants of the world, reflecting what experts feel are the best restaurants at the moment.
I look forward to learning tonight’s results and of course will be publishing the full list of world’s best restaurants for 2010 here, on sharemykitchen.com
